The person in this position is responsible for designing and implementing process automation systems as part of industrial installation projects, including advanced hydrogen production systems (e.g., electrolysis installations). The position combines knowledge in the fields of automation, electrical engineering, and process engineering. The candidate acts as an expert in the field of process automation, supporting technology development, system integration, and cooperation with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Performing design tasks for Process Control for Electrolyser projects;
- Development and review of P&ID, C&E, interlocks and permissive controls, functional/logic diagrams;
- Preparation of Functional Diagrams/Logic Diagrams;
- Designing BPCS (DCS) and SIS systems for industrial installations;
- Contribution in review meetings (HAZOP / LOPA / SIL etc.);
- Participation in the Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT, SAT);
- Cooperation with the process department in the creation of functional documentation (sequence control, alarms, setpoints);
- Analysis of documentation from suppliers, verification of technical solutions, and optimization proposals;
- Technical consulting and mentoring – the role of an expert in a team;
- Supervision of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up on site for customers around the world.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Instrumentation or Chemical Engineering;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation, process control engineering, or related fields (e.g., control systems for cogeneration, petrochemical, and gas plants);
- Knowledge of systems: DCS, SIS, SCADA, PLC (e.g. Siemens, Emerson, Yokogawa, ABB);
- Knowledge of tools: EPLAN, Smart Plant Instrumentation, AutoCAD, Python (appreciated);
- Experience with standards: IEC 61508/61511 (Functional Safety), HAZOP, LOPA, SIL;
- Experience with power systems (medium/high voltage), process automation, system cybersecurity;
- Ability to work independently on the preparation of proposals and execution of projects for process control scope for domestic and international projects;
- Fluent in English, knowledge of German / French or other languages would be appreciated;
- Eager to work in a multi-cultural team, willing to travel short and long term ( 1-3 months) for commissioning and start-up activities;
- High interpersonal skills.
