We are looking for an experienced C# Software Engineer to help develop a new generation of control software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
This is not a web application or cloud-based backend. The software runs directly on epitaxy tools used in real production environments. The project involves replacing ageing machine controllers with a modern software stack capable of controlling equipment, communicating with hardware and providing improved diagnostics, logging and equipment health monitoring.
You will work close to the hardware and have the opportunity to take significant ownership of a largely greenfield solution.
Your responsibilities
- Developing C# software that runs directly on semiconductor manufacturing equipment
- Replacing legacy machine-control solutions with a modern software architecture
- Integrating software with hardware components and equipment subsystems
- Working with machine I/O, motion control and wafer-handling mechanisms
- Developing and integrating reactor-control functionality
- Supporting communication between the controller and other parts of the equipment
- Introducing equipment health monitoring, diagnostics and improved logging
- Troubleshooting issues across both software and hardware boundaries
- Contributing to architectural and technical decisions
- Supporting software running on real production equipment
What we are looking for
- Strong commercial experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem
- Experience developing Windows, desktop, industrial or machine-control software
- Understanding of software-to-hardware integration
- Ability to diagnose complex problems involving multiple equipment components
- A practical engineering mindset and willingness to work close to physical systems
- Ability to take ownership of features from design through implementation and testing
- Good command of English for working in an international environment
Nice to have
- Experience with industrial automation or production equipment
- Knowledge of I/O systems, motion control or equipment-control software
- Experience with monitoring, diagnostics or telemetry solutions
- Previous work in the semiconductor industry
- Familiarity with wafer-handling systems or epitaxy equipment
